Remove row if common value in another worksheet

 

It searches duplicated rows by specified key column of two worksheets, and removes rows from worksheet1 if the rows also appear in another worksheet2.

 

Steps to go:

Step 1:Specify worksheet1. Clicking this line, the ‘Browse’ button appears on the right side. Clicking the button, you can select a workbook at first, and select a worksheet in it.

Step 2: Specify key column of worksheet1. The application will compare the two worksheets based on their key column.

Step 3: Specify worksheet2 in the same way as Step 1.

Step 4: Specify key column of worksheet2.

Step 5: Enter ‘Keep formulas in the result’. Normally you can select ‘No’.

Step 6: Click ‘Start’ button.

 

Example:

Let’s say you have customer list of year 2006 and 2005. Now you’d like to get new customer in year 2006. To do this, you need to remove the customers in the list of year 2005 from the list of year 2006.

Follow step 1~6:

Step 1: Specify worksheet1 as the customer list of year 2006.

Step 2: Key column of worksheet1 should be 1 here.

Step 3: Specify worksheet2 as the customer list of year 2005.

Step 4: Key column of worksheet2 is also 1.

Step 5: Click ‘Start’ button.

You can see, customer 52 and customer 24 are deleted from the customer list of year 2006, we get the new customer in year 2006.
